Vesting

Vesting is the gradual release of tokens according to a fixed schedule. On 8lends, 8LNDS tokens earned through Proof of Loan are subject to vesting: 2.5% unlocks immediately after the investment pool closes, followed by another 2.5% each week for 39 weeks. This results in a total of 40 unlocks. The schedule is enforced by a smart contract and cannot be accelerated. Vesting is designed to reduce selling pressure and encourage long-term participation in the ecosystem.
