Default Trigger

A Default Trigger is the formal point at which a borrower is declared to be in default. On 8lends, it is activated on the 61st day of missed payments if no satisfactory resolution plan has been agreed upon. Once triggered, Maclear AG begins the collection process by freezing the collateral through legal procedures, issuing a formal notice, notifying investors, suspending future payments, and applying penalty interest.
