Collateral Agent

A Collateral Agent is an independent organization that manages collateral on behalf of all investors in a project. On 8lends, this role is handled by Maclear AG (Switzerland). The Collateral Agent verifies the collateral before the project is listed, formalizes the security, monitors it throughout the loan term, and initiates the sale of the assets if the borrower defaults.
