From Repayment to Your Bank Account: How Money Actually Leaves

From Repayment to Your Bank Account: How Money Actually Leaves

  • Where does a repayment or interest payout land first?
  • What steps take that balance from the platform to a bank account?
  • What determines how long the whole path takes?
  • What costs appear outside the platform, and who charges them?
  • Where does the platform's responsibility end, and the third-party service's begin?

A repayment or interest payout first appears on your investor balance in USD. Getting that money into a bank account in your home currency involves withdrawing it to an external wallet, using a payment service you choose, and arranging conversion and a bank transfer. The platform does not control, price, or time those external stages.

A repayment or interest payout first appears on your investor balance in USD. Getting that money into a bank account in your home currency involves withdrawing it to an external wallet, using a payment service you choose, and arranging conversion and a bank transfer. The platform does not control, price, or time those external stages.

Where does a repayment or interest payout land first?

Your dashboard shows available USD payouts allocated to your address in the project’s smart contract on Base. These funds remain there until you claim them to your external wallet; they have not yet reached your bank account.

Under the standard monthly repayment model, interest is paid during the loan term. Principal is returned according to the loan’s repayment conditions. Receiving a month’s interest therefore does not mean that your original investment is available to withdraw alongside it.

Once a payout has accrued, you can withdraw it to an external wallet or use the available funds to reinvest. This article follows the withdrawal route, beginning with money that has already been credited.

Is withdrawing a payout the same as selling a loan claim before it matures?

No. Withdrawing moves money already allocated to you out of the platform. Selling a loan claim transfers ownership of an outstanding loan participation to another investor before maturity.

Withdrawing accrued interest does not end the loan participation or release the outstanding principal.

What steps take that balance from the platform to a bank account?

To understand how to withdraw money from a P2P lending platform to a bank account, follow the three parts of the route. The platform documents the withdrawal to your external wallet; the onward payment arrangement is yours to choose.

StageWhat happensWhat to check
PlatformAn accrued USD payout is withdrawn to your external wallet on Base. The available amount and withdrawal transaction.
Third-party payment serviceYou arrange the onward movement through a service you select. Its supported route, requirements and charges.
Currency conversion and bankFunds are converted into your home currency and transferred to your bank account. The exchange terms and any bank charges.

The platform’s funding and conversion guide covers the entry side; check your chosen service’s instructions for the onward route to your bank.

The documented platform procedure involves opening the relevant project or available-funds section, initiating a claim and confirming the transaction in your wallet. A claim here means collecting an accrued payment; it is separate from selling your investor claim.

After that, follow the instructions of your chosen payment service. The steps for converting a USD payout to local currency depend on that service. There is no single universal sequence from an external wallet to a euro bank account, because that part of the route belongs to the service you pick, not to 8lends.

Before moving funds onward, check whether the service supports the route you need. Review its conversion terms and bank transfer conditions together. A completed platform withdrawal does not confirm that your bank has received the money.

What determines how long the whole path takes?

The withdrawal process on a crowdlending platform and the subsequent bank transfer have different checkpoints. First, the accrued payment moves to your external wallet. Then the chosen service handles the onward arrangement, followed by bank processing.

The platform procedure is documented, but 8lends does not publish a fixed number of days for a withdrawal or an end-to-end timetable for reaching a bank account. External processing depends on the service you use and the receiving bank.

Why can't the platform guarantee a fixed number of days for the transfer to arrive?

Because it does not operate the entire payment route. It cannot set another service’s processing schedule or decide when a bank credits an incoming transfer.

When checking progress, identify which stage has completed. The Base network’s public transaction record can help verify the platform-side transaction without registration. It cannot establish that the later bank transfer has settled. For that stage, consult the payment service’s transfer information and your bank’s account record.

Once a payout leaves the platform balance, its speed, exchange rate, and any additional fees depend on the third-party payment service and bank the investor chooses - the platform does not set or guarantee any of those.

What costs appear outside the platform, and who charges them?

Moving a P2P platform payout to a bank transfer can involve costs at several stages. Separate costs can arise from the network transaction, currency conversion and onward transfer.

Does the platform charge a fee for withdrawing funds?

No. The investor fee on the platform is 0%, including the platform withdrawal fee. This does not make the full journey to your bank account cost-free.

A Base network transaction fee is paid in ETH. That is a network cost, rather than a withdrawal fee charged by 8lends, and it varies with network conditions.

Outside the platform, conversion and transfer costs depend on the service you use and the bank involved. Check the quoted exchange rate, any separate service fee and applicable bank charges. 8lends does not price those stages.

For a euro account, compare the USD payout with the final euro amount using the actual conversion terms. Any difference also needs to be assessed against external charges, rather than automatically treated as a platform deduction.

Where does the platform's responsibility end, and the third-party service's begin?

The platform is responsible for correctly crediting the payout within its own settlement process. Its responsibilities do not extend to setting the exchange rate, external service charges or the date of bank credit.

You choose the external service and receiving bank, and arrange the onward steps under their terms. A question about the amount credited on 8lends belongs with platform support; a question about an onward transfer belongs with the service or bank processing it.

The 8lends platform is run by CLEARCHAIN CORP, registered in British Columbia, Canada, and registered with FINTRAC as a money services business. Maclear AG (Switzerland), a member of PolyReg SRO, acts as the independent Collateral Agent - it does not operate the platform, is not its parent company, and does not hold investor funds.

Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Returns are not guaranteed.

Frequently Asked Questions

It goes first to your investor balance within the platform, in USD. This is the amount allocated to you through the platform’s settlement process, rather than a deposit in your bank account. To receive it there, you need to withdraw to an external wallet and arrange the onward route through your chosen payment service.

No, the investor fee on the platform is 0%, including withdrawal fees. A Base network transaction still involves a network fee paid in ETH. Further costs may arise when your chosen service converts the funds and arranges the bank transfer. Those external charges are set by the service and bank, rather than by 8lends.

It depends on the service you use and the receiving bank. The platform does not set or guarantee a fixed number of days for the complete journey. Check the platform-side transaction first, then use the external service’s transfer status and your bank’s account record to establish where the onward payment stands.

Currency conversion and external charges can change the final amount you receive. Your platform payout is expressed in USD, while your bank may credit euros or another home currency. Compare the actual exchange rate and applicable service or bank charges before deciding whether the difference reflects conversion, fees or a payment issue.

No, they are separate operations. Withdrawing takes money already credited to you outside the platform. Selling a loan claim transfers an outstanding participation to another investor before the loan matures. An accrued interest payout can be withdrawn while the principal remains invested; withdrawing that payment does not itself sell or close the loan participation.

The platform has been audited by CertiK and Cyberscope, and all transactions are publicly visible on the Base blockchain. Two companies with clear responsibilities stand behind the platform: CLEARCHAIN CORP operates the platform and is registered as a Money Services Business with FINTRAC (Canada), and Maclear AG conducts due diligence and monitors collateral. So the platform is well regulated, transparent and accountable

If the project has BuyBack, the partner buys the loan and returns 100% of the principal once it is overdue for 60 days or more. Without BuyBack, Maclear AG initiates the sale of the collateral, and the proceeds are distributed proportionally among investors. Since launch there have been no defaults

The platform is operated by CLEARCHAIN CORP, registered in Canada as a Money Services Business (MSB) and subject to mandatory AML/CFT compliance requirements under FINTRAC. Settlements are made in USD. The platform is not a CASP, so DAC8 requirements do not apply

Small and medium-sized businesses in developing regions do not have easy access to bank financing and are willing to pay higher rates than businesses in the EU or US

You can sell your position to another investor through the Secondary Market before the end of the loan term. With Fastlending there is no fixed term: the principal and accrued income can be withdrawn at any time

The minimum investment is 100 USD

Risk of non-payment by the business, risk of changes in the value of the collateral, risk of limited liquidity if there is no buyer on the Secondary Market, and technical risk associated with the smart contract

Investments from 100 to 500 USD are available without KYC. For amounts over 500 USD, full verification is required: an identity document and proof of address
