Our Journey

The story of 8lends begins with Maclear AG and long predates the launch of the Web3 platform

In 2019, during a period of global instability and the pandemic, Alexander Lang and Denis Ustyev identified a systemic problem: small and medium-sized businesses, even profitable and sustainable ones, faced serious difficulties accessing financing. Traditional banks were slow, overly formal, and largely focused on large corporations and government-backed programs.

With backgrounds in investing, business consulting, and project management, they shared a vision of building an investment platform that would be transparent, understandable for investors, and operate within a clear legal framework. The goal was to connect investors with real businesses by offering an alternative to traditional bank lending without sacrificing control or financial discipline.

In 2020, this vision was realized through the acquisition and transformation of the Swiss company Maclear AG, previously focused on GRC software solutions. Under new leadership, Maclear shifted toward private lending for businesses while maintaining strong compliance, risk management, and regulatory standards. The first investment campaigns launched in 2023, starting with projects in the Baltic region, followed by gradual geographic expansion and team growth.

By 2024, Maclear AG had become a mature Swiss P2P lending platform with proprietary risk assessment, borrower scoring, and collateral control systems, operating in accordance with Swiss law and as a member of PolyReg SRO.

As Maclear grew, it became clear that demand extended beyond the European Union. Investors from other regions wanted access to these opportunities, while businesses outside the EU needed predictable and efficient financing. Blockchain technology made this possible by simplifying cross-border investments and accelerating settlements.

In 2024, the team began developing 8lends as an extension of the Maclear ecosystem. The core principles remained unchanged: strict borrower due diligence, real asset-backed collateral, risk control, and investor protection. On March 3, 2025, the 8lends platform was officially launched.

The 8lends platform is operated by Alpha Systems LLC, registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines under the Limited Liability Companies Act, Chapter 151. Company registration number: 3895 LLC 2024 Date of registration: November 1, 2024

Alpha Systems LLC is the legal entity responsible for operating the 8lends platform, developing the Web3 infrastructure, implementing smart contracts, and maintaining the user interface. All investor interactions and investment logic are executed exclusively through the 8lends platform and blockchain-based smart contracts.

The legal existence and authority of Alpha Systems LLC are confirmed by an official Certificate of Formation issued by the Registrar of Companies of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Role of Maclear AG

All investments carry risk: payment delays, business difficulties, or market changes. We reduce these risMaclear AG (Switzerland) is not the operator of the 8lends platform and does not provide Web3 investment services.

Maclear AG acts as an independent Collateral Agent within the 8lends ecosystem. Its responsibilities include auditing business projects, verifying borrowers, assessing and legally structuring collateral, and managing recovery and asset realization processes in the event of default. In these processes, Maclear AG acts on behalf of investors and within the relevant real-world jurisdictions where businesses and assets are located.

Maclear AG does not manage the platform and does not hold investor funds. All investment operations are carried out exclusively through the 8lends platform and smart contracts.ks through due diligence, real collateral, BuyBack protection, and full blockchain transparency.

Clear Separation of Responsibilities

This structure ensures a balanced and resilient model in which 8lends focuses on technology, accessibility, and global Web3 operations, while Maclear AG ensures proper due diligence, collateral management, and investor protection outside the blockchain.
